Back on the Trails

This will be a short blog with a small update. There's really not a lot going on at the moment in my small little world. I do have news, however:

I resumed walking at ASU this week!

It felt good to be back on the trails. Until I get my strength back following shoulder surgery, I plan to walk Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Part of the reason is my twice weekly physical therapy sessions, which are on Tuesday and Thursday; but part of the reason is that my stamina is just not there yet. I will get there, though. I am determined!

The mornings I have walked this week were crisp and cool and in the 50s; perfect fall weather for walking. I'm so glad it's finally cooler weather. Summer 2026 was brutal, and I'm happy to see it go.

The lack of rain around here is a real concern. When I walked, I saw that the creek had noticeably lower water levels. Usually, we have the autumn rains that flood the waterways, but not this year.

I managed to decorate for fall at my house, in spite of the inconvenience of not being able to lift the totes and bring them inside fully loaded. I had to open them and bring stuff in a little at a time, but it worked.

I've included a few photos of fall decor and the walking trail. I'm also including a selfie I took this week. I am doing much better than I was in the last picture I posted of myself from the hospital bed. It's amazing how much strength my arm lost for the 3 or 4 weeks it was in a sling while my shoulder healed. Physical therapy is going well, though; I'm driving again and using my right arm more and more.

Happy Fall, and Blessings to my friends!

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works. Psalm 73:28
